McPherson, Kansas Hundreds of Veterans go on honor flights every year. One Kansas man is working hard to send a few of them on a flight for free one can at a time.

Were going for a record breaking year, we did 17 last year and Im shooting for 25 or 30 this year. Warren Vincent started Cans 4 Kansas honor flights five years ago.

So far hes sent thirty-one veterans on honor flights from money he collected donating cans.

I enjoy talking to the veterans the ones thats been on the flights, they impress me the most, because its the trip of the lifetime, a lot of people call it one last mission for the military veterans. Warren started his mission in memory of his two uncles who fought in world war two.

He said putting int he hard work into the collection is worth it.

Thats a big deal, hearing their stories and most of them they get teary eyed and I get teary eyed with them and thats one of the big things is listening to their stories, said Warren.

Now hes expanding his operations, selling American flags to help raise money.

Im hoping that with memorial day coming up Im hoping well get a lot of orders.

Warren has a partnership with a flag making company up in Nebraska called MSA, they sell these flags to him at a reduced price and ship them to him for free and hes already sold out of his first shipment.

The five dollar profit from each flag goes straight to the mission, helping Warren, to honor more veterans.

Im really proud of the support we have, thats what its all about.

Warren has a donation site for cans in McPherson and also travels to places like Salina and Lyons to pick up cans on Saturdays.
